Make Opera looks like other browsers

Here are some cool skins to make Opera look like other browsers.

"Whether you want to help ease a transition from one browser to another, or you just like the look of other browsers, you can use skins and toolbar setups to make Opera look and behave like other browsers."

How I work (part 1)

Here is a list of programs/web tools I use and how I use them.

This is the first post of about four that I will do on useful programs. I may go into more details on some of these programs at a later time but right now I am just giving a short description of them.

Tune Up: Utilities and system tools

Microsoft Tweak UI

Microsoft Tweak UI is part of the Microsoft powertoys. It gives you control of different system settings that you wouldn't normally be able to control in Windows XP. These include mouse settings, Explorer settings, taskbar settings, and more.

WinDirStat

WinDirStat is a great program for seeing what's taking up space on your hard drive(s). It shows you a visual of all the files on your hard drive(s) which includes the size and the type of each file.

JDiskReport

Like WinDirStat, JDiskReport shows you a visual of the files on your computer, but in a different way. In JDiskReport graphs and charts are used to give you a visual of the file sizes and types.

WinRAR

WinRAR is a useful program for compressing files. I use it to compress things I don't use but want to save for later and for files I send to people.

Belarc Advisor

Belarc Advisor makes a profile of your computer. This profile includes information on your Operating System, your Drives, Processor, System Model, Main Circuit Board, Memory Modules, Hard drives, Network Drives, Printers, Display, Multimedia, Bus Adapters, Software Licenses, Software Versions, and many other things.

Web Tools:

Google

Google is by far the best search engine ever. Without it I don't know what I would do. I use it as my home page, a spellchecker, and for all my searches.

Wikipedia

Wikipedia is a good online reference for learning about something quickly. I wouldn't count on it for having perfect information and would not use it for school papers.

July to be Another Big Patch Month for Microsoft

"Four of the updates will fix bugs in Windows, while another three will address flaws in Microsoft Office, Microsoft said Thursday in a bulletin on its Web site. Both sets of patches will address critical flaws, which attackers could exploit to run unauthorized code on a PC without any user action."

Opera Browser

www.Opera.com
A lot of people say they like Firefox because of "Firefox’s easy to use interface". The truth is, Opera is just as easy to use and there are more ways to do things with more keyboard shortcuts (which you can edit), mouse gestures (you can edit those too), and even voice control. With all of those you can browse the internet a lot faster.

Opera also has some other nice features including page zoom (can zoom in on text, images, java, flash, and some other things), 'fit to window' (Makes websites fit into a smaller screen without needing horizontal scrolling), sessions (the session includes the history of each tab, the settings for each tab, and the web page of each tab. sessions include as many windows/tabs as you want and it is easy to save/manage them), tabs, pop-up blocking, easy searching, (has a search box that includes Google, Ebay, Amazon.com and some other search engines.) themes, and a download manager (lets you list, pause, resume, or restart the downloading of different files. You are able to open the download right from the download manager and it can keep a history of recent downloads. ), widgets and BitTorrent downloading.

Opera is also one of the best browsers (if not the best) at meeting internet standards. If you're a Firefox user you should just give Opera a chance, use it for about a week to get use to it and see what you think, when you go back to Firefox you will most likely be annoyed at how slow it is and how you can't do mouse gestures. I’ve gotten to the point where I took off the back and forward buttons because I never use them. Why go all the way up to the back button when you can just do a mouse gesture anywhere in the browser window to go back/forwards?"
